Hi hi, it's me, the author of this site!

If you were wanting to know more of my thoughts, you're looking for this , but if you want to know who I am, or why I made this, you're in the right place!

The fine bits and nitty gritty of who I am isn't what this place is about - it's for sharing the thoughts that the culmination of one's life bring them to. Not just mine, either, I want that to be clear. Generationally, I fall into the category of gen Z, though definetly towards the older end: but even then, I did not experince very much of the "old web" and that which I did was through the eyes of a child, though this place is in some ways an ode to this, while still serving a larger purpose beyond that.  This place, this website, this foggy corner of the window of the tangled, writhing mass that is the internet is one person's attempt and bringing some togetherness to things, and I'll be honest here this is in part something done for a college final but it does very much go beyond that as the sort of thing I've wanted to do for a while now. Putting up a website of my own, however rudementer my HTML skills are, and sending it out into the world, even just as my own small protest against the enviornment the internet has become: everything from search results to advertisements to what social media posts you see determined by algorithms designed to get you to act in a way most profitable to the people behind it.

A little website like this could never be like that, and I've known the internet closely enough and long enough to have seen the way social media changed, and grew, and monopilized into just a small handful of services owned by an even smaller handful of companies.. the cookie-cutter shapes that they force you into intentionally or not by limiting you to an icon and a short biograpy, and a header image if you're lucky.. and all the ads, the promoted content, all of it served to you as conveniently as possible so you don't mind that the price is your privacy and  passive agency you had over your experinceit's just all garbage that I feel greatly dampens the possibity of genuine, thoughtful connection in a lot of ways. It's just as easy, if not easier than ever to get a little website of your own up and going.

I guess that was just a really, really long winded way of saying "I'm just some young-adult hitting two birds with one stone, who has a lot of contempt for modern monopilized social media and thinks that a different kind of place could have much better discussions."
